After so many years (over 15 years) of doing agility, and Gijsje, Jlee, Dirkje finished in the highest classes, we thought it was time to start practicing another sport besides agility. And what is more fun than doing what a kelpie was actually bred for: herding sheep.
In the Netherlands, you are only allowed to participate in traditional style herding with a kelpie. To participate, you must have successfully completed the Natural Herding Aptitude Test and the Herding Working Test. And Allie, Jelske and Mar did! Achieved everything in one go! Suus was unable to do the Herding Working Test due to her pregnancy. We will start training with her as soon as the puppies are gone. Jelske and Allie have also completed their first International Herding Trial in the meantime. So much fun to do! Highly recommended.
